Since January, I've been a part of the Credit Leadership Program (CLP) at PayPal, a 2-year, full-time executive training program to accelerate the careers of high-performing, mid-level technologists and help build the next generation of PayPal's leadership pipeline.
The program consists of 4, 6-month rotations in various parts of the company for a total of 2 years. (Each participant gets to choose his or her 4 rotations based on what he or she wants to learn). The program also offers mentorship from business leaders, a supportive peer group, resources and trainings, and a close-knit TLP alumni community. Hopefully, when candidates graduate from the program, they will be better equipped to help take their teams, their organizations, and the business to the next level.
Each year, the overall Technology Leadership Program selects 13 candidates from across PayPal, including 10 technologists from PayPal and 3 from PayPal Credit (a subsidiary of PayPal). I was 1 of the 3 from PayPal Credit, and those 3 spots make up the Credit Leadership Program, though for all intents and purposes we're all part of the Technology Leadership Program.
In this series of posts, I'll talk about some of the lessons I've learned as part of the program - stay tuned to the Credit Leadership Program tag as I go through the rotations.
